Access Manager 0.7 – New Database Better Performance

Today sees the release of Access Manager Avalon 0.7 which sees a major change to the application infrastructure.
We’ve taken out the old database which served Access Manager well in the short-term but as more and more of you have started using Access Manager in larger deployments it became unsuitable. So we’ve spent the last few releases preparing the architecture for the inclusion of a new database; a more robust and scalable solution and with the release of Avalon 0.7 it’s finally here.
What this means is a marked improvement in performance all round the real benefit though will be for large deployments in the 1000s. In addition to this we have included the obligatory bug fixes and improvements so be sure to upgrade.

  • Enhancement: New database integrated
  • Enhancement: New certificate creation step added to install wizard
  • Enhancements: A number of UI improvements
  • Enhancements: Added read-only mode for connecting to non-SSL enabled ADs
  • Fix: Password complexity rules sync correctly with AD
  • Fix: Improved validation on creating questions for Q&A profiles
