The command shell allows the admin to run maintenance commands from a root level command shell. This will generally be used when you have been asked to run specific commands by a support technician.

Log into VMCentre

If you have autologin disabled you will first need to log into VM Centre to start to administer Access Manager. Provide the root user password in order to login. From the dashboard you will see the icon for the command prompt in the top menu.

Click the console icon to open a new command prompt.

You are now able use the command prompt in order to enter root level commands. You can switch back to the command shell by clicking the console icon on the left menu. It's also possible to open multiple command prompts, use the 'x' to close each individual instance.
